Tyler grew up on a small farm in Wisconsin, fixing engines and tinkering with electronics before he was old enough to shave. After a few years in construction, he joined the Marine Corps at twenty-one. He spent five years turning wrenches on KC-130Js and worked up to shop supervisor and Quality Assurance representative.

When the uniform came off, the toolbox didn't. Tyler earned his A&P certificate and built a career from flight school maintenance benches to cargo and commercial airline ramps, picking up a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and his FAA Inspection Authorization. Fifteen years in, he's worked on everything from a Cessna 152 to an Airbus A321.

At Gold Mountain, nothing leaves the ramp until it's been triple checked by Tyler's highest quality of standards.

Alexis was born and raised right here in Battle Mountain, back when the airport was just a place you drove past on the way out of town. She enlisted in the Marine Corps out of high school and served as a red-patcher, landing support specialist running logistics for round-the-clock flightline operations and helicopter external lift operations out in the field.

After the Marine Corps, she earned her Associate and Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Supply Chain Management and Logistics from the University of North Texas, then spent seven years in the defense and aerospace industry in Texas. After fourteen years, she never stopped thinking of Battle Mountain as her home. When she and Tyler decided to build something of their own, there was only ever one place it was going to happen.
